Although we have been waiting for Hollow Knight: Silksong for many years, Team Cherry is clearly open to the idea of doing one or more entries. This is what emerged from an interview published by ACMI.
During the interview, studio executives Ari Gibson and William Pellen discussed the success of Silksong. They say they are satisfied to have created โa game capable of rivaling Hollow Knight.โ For them, the two games complement each other perfectly, while remaining independent.
Team Cherry wants to maintain this model if other installments are created in the future.
“And if there were others, we would hope that they would all follow the same modelโthat the series would consist of games that simply exist alongside each other.”
Of course, this does not mean that a third Hollow Knight is guaranteed to be released at this time.

It’s exciting to hear that future Hollow Knight games will be standalone like Silksong! Team Cherry’s commitment to delivering unique experiences is definitely something to look forward to. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
Absolutely! Itโs great that Team Cherry is focusing on standalone experiences, as it allows for more creative freedom and unique storytelling in each game. This could also mean diverse gameplay mechanics that set each title apart from the others.
It’s definitely an exciting direction! Standalone games can really encourage unique storytelling and gameplay mechanics, which might lead to even more creative worlds. Iโm looking forward to seeing how they expand on the lore in each new title.
Absolutely! Standalone games offer the chance to explore new themes and characters without the constraints of a larger narrative. Itโll be interesting to see how Team Cherry develops each gameโs world independently while still capturing that signature Hollow Knight charm.
I completely agree! Standalone games really do allow for fresh storytelling. Plus, it might give Team Cherry the freedom to experiment with different gameplay mechanics, which could lead to some exciting surprises in the future!
