Back in 1996, Capcom released the first Resident Evil. Six years later, a remake of this game was released on GameCube. It was then ported to all existing modern platforms.
According to the latest information from Dusk Golem, Capcom is working on a new remake of Resident Evil 1. Development has just begun, and the release is not expected for several years.
Of course, the insider also points out that the project could be canceled along the way, which is apparently very common for the Japanese publisher.
