Composer Nobuo Uematsu’s work is recognized around the world. In particular, we owe him the music for the greatest entries in the Final Fantasy saga.
During a recent interview, the composer was asked about the use of artificial intelligence in music composition. And if we are to believe his words, Uematsu will clearly not be using these new tools.
“I have never used AI and probably never will.
I think it’s always more rewarding to go through the difficulties of personal creation. When you listen to music, part of the pleasure is discovering the journey of the person who created it, isn’t it? AI doesn’t have that kind of background.
Even when it comes to live performances, music produced by people is unstable, and everyone does it their own way. And it’s precisely these fluctuations and imperfections that make the sound so satisfying.”
