The Elder Scrolls VI is “still a long way off”

Seven and a half years after its announcement, The Elder Scrolls VI has yet to be released. And while Starfield coming out might have suggested that development of the sixth entry would came to be, the work to be done seems ginormous!

In a recent interview with GQ, Todd Howard, creative director at Bethesda Game Studios, said that The Elder Scrolls VI is “still a long way off”. He also said he wants to encourage patience and “don’t want fans to feel anxious”.

“I like to just announce stuff and release it. My perfect version – and I’m not saying this is going to happen – is that it’s going to be a while and then, one day, the game will just appear.”

Howard also clarified that his teams are working on other Fallout projects. In any case, The Elder Scrolls VI could ultimately be released on the next generation of consoles.
