The Elder Scrolls Online welcomes a new season

The Elder Scrolls Online is adopting a new season-based content model in 2026, replacing the old system of annual expansions. The first one, called Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk, will launch on April 2, 2026, that is, tomorrow, and will last approximately three months.

This season introduces a progression system called Tamriel Tomes, similar to a battle pass, featuring both free and optional paid rewards. All gameplay content (zones, quests, systems) will now be accessible for free to all players who own the base game. Among the new features is an event zone called the Night Market, located in Oblivion, where players can join different factions and take on PvE challenges.

The season will also include various gameplay improvements, particularly for PvP, skills, and open-world difficulty. More broadly, this new format aims to offer more regular, flexible, and accessible updates, while allowing developers to better respond to player feedback. Finally, additional seasons are already planned for 2026, with new narrative content, zones, and features that will continue to make the game grow throughout the year.
