2025 has got plenty of great solo video game releases, so much so that we have decided to split our selection into two parts. Our first article on the matter was posted last week, and we are back with our second list of the best single-player games of 2025.
Let’s get straight to the point with some fast-paced titles known for their demanding difficulty.
The First Berserker: Khazan is a rather original cell-shaded souls-like game. The player takes on the role of a possessed war general seeking revenge. The boss fights, although particularly demanding and brutal, are hugely satisfying once you’ve beaten them. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Hell Is Us offer a fairly similar experience.
For a medieval atmosphere with landscapes dotted with ruins and castles, there is plenty of choice. Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon and Dynasty Warriors: Origins are obvious choices. We can also add The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and even Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This franchise is making a comeback after several years of absence and transports players to 15th-century Europe. We follow Henry of Skalice on his journey to avenge his murdered parents.
Our selection also features some smaller projects that have managed to rank among this year’s best solo titles. Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist stands out with its side-scrolling style, as does Terminator 2D: NO FATE, which will be released on November 26, 2025, on all consoles and PC. Blue Prince is a puzzle game that has been making waves. You play as an heir tasked with exploring a mysterious mansion in which the rooms are rearranged every day. Your goal is to reach the famous 46th room to claim your inheritance.
Returning to adventure games, Atomfall features beautiful landscapes from northern England, set a few years after a nuclear disaster. Dying Light: The Beast, originally designed as DLC for Dying Light 2 but ultimately becoming a stand-alone game, is our recommendation for those who want to let off steam and smash zombies to their heart’s content.
Schedule I is undoubtedly one of the surprises of the year and has achieved impressive scores. It already has 220,000 reviews on Steam, with an โoverwhelmingly positiveโ rating. From small-time street dealer to drug lord, we are tasked with building a drug empire. Manufacturing and distributing a whole range of narcotics, developing our business with properties, companies, employees, and much more await us.
