The best laptop deals you can get for Amazon’s October Prime Day

Apple’s powerful MacBook Pro with M4 Max is $400 off.

The second Amazon Prime Day sales event of the year is here, and once again it offers discounts on MacBooks, Windows laptops, and various PC accessories. Like previous Prime Big Deal Days, this sale runs for two days and requires a Prime membership to qualify for most discounts. Some sale prices are open to anyone, and competing sales from Best Buy and other retailers often match or beat the discounts on Amazon without requiring a subscription.

If you’re shopping for a laptop and are unable to wait for potentially bigger sales during Black Friday, this may be a good opportunity to save what you can now. We’ve been perusing the deals across our wide range of October Prime Day coverage, and here are the best ones we’ve found on laptops we’ve either directly tested or feel comfortable recommending. They include solid sales on Apple, HP, Microsoft, Lenovo, Asus, and others.

Apple MacBook Pro 16 (2024, M4 Max)

Apple MacBook Air 13 (2025, M4)

The MacBook Air is by far the laptop The Verge recommends the most frequently. The latest generation isn’t revolutionary, but it packs a speedy M4 chip, more RAM, and an improved webcam for a lower starting price of $999. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

  • The two-generations-old 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD is $699 ($100 off) at Best Buy. It’s still a great machine today that will last years, but if you can squeeze the extra 100 bones for the M4 model, I think it’s worth it in the long-run.

Apple MacBook Air 15 (2025, M4)

The larger, 15-inch version of the M4 MacBook Air is much the same as its smaller counterpart. But it packs a bigger screen and better speakers into a compact package. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

  • While not a laptop, there’s no denying how good the M4 Mac Mini is — especially on sale for $499 ($100 off) at Amazon and Best Buy. It was $30 cheaper in the summer, but if you already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to use there’s no better value for a powerful little desktop. Read our review.

Best Windows laptop deals

2024 Microsoft Surface Laptop (13.8-inch)

The 13.8-inch Surface Laptop is the most affordable of Microsoft’s 2024 Copilot Plus models. The MacBook rival uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X chipsets — which offer excellent performance and battery life — and its keyboard is the first with a dedicated Copilot key. Read our review.

Microsoft Surface Pro 12-inch

Microsoft’s latest Surface Pro is smaller, with a new design and updated keyboard. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Arm64 Snapdragon X Plus chip. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

Microsoft Surface Laptop, 13-inch

Microsoft’s slightly smaller, entry-level Surface Laptop trims some of the size and a few features from its bigger 13.8-inch counterpart, but it maintains excellent battery life and solid performance. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

  • The Acer Swift 16 AI is once again heavily discounted to $799.99 ($450 off) at Best Buy. The Swift 16 addresses one of my biggest issues with the Swift 14: its low-rent screen quality. The Swift 16 has a 16-inch OLED with 2880 x 1800 resolution and 120Hz refresh, and it packs lots of ports as well as a very good Intel Lunar Lake chip.
  • Another budget-friendly Acer, the Swift Go 14 is on sale at Amazon for $699.99 ($200 off). It’s got an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS chip, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD. This isn’t matching its all-time lowest price, but it’s very close (within about $13).
  • The 14-inch Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is $899.99 ($450 off) and the 16-inch version is $1,249.99 ($500 off), both at Best Buy. They both pack Arm-based Snapdragon X Elite processors, which perform okay compared to other Snapdragon-based laptops from this year and last — though few of them look this sleek, and the Samsung is a much more appealing package on this level of discount. Read our review.

Asus Zenbook S 16

The Asus Zenbook S 16 features AMD’s Ryzen AI mobile processors. It’s one of the thinnest and lightest 16-inch laptops available and can handle all sorts of heavy workloads with ease. Read our review.

Razer Blade 16 (2025, RTX 5090)

Razer’s latest and greatest version of its Blade 16 laptop returns to a thinner, more travel-friendly chassis. It comes with RTX 50-series GPU options but each configuration features an excellent OLED display. Read our review.

Where to Buy:

  • Razer’s smaller Blade 14 laptop for 2025 is on sale at Amazon for $1,899.99 ($100 off). It may not be a huge discount, but it’s the Blade 14’s best deal yet. You can get it in black or white with a 14-inch 2880 x 1800 / 120Hz OLED, RTX 5070 GPU, AMD Ryzen 9 AI 365 CPU, 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. It’s a fair amount of power for a compact and travel-friendly laptop that isn’t strictly just for gaming. Read our review of its larger Blade 16 sibling.

Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 (2025, RTX 5080)

Asus’ ROG Strix Scar 16 is a powerful gaming laptop configured with a 16-inch 2.5K 240Hz screen, Nvidia 5080 graphics card, Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage.

Where to Buy:

  • Asus’s more modest Strix gaming laptop, the 2025 ROG Strix G16, is on sale for $1,199.99 ($300 off) at Amazon. It doesn’t have the fancy animated LEDs on its lid, but it packs a respectable RTX 5060 GPU, Intel Core i7 14650HX, 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD.
  • The Asus TUF Gaming A16 laptop with RTX 5070 GPU is $1,349.99 ($350 off) at Best Buy. Asus’s TUF Gaming is a lower-end line than the ROG Strix, but in these configurations it’s better core specs with a lower-res and lower-refresh screen.
  • Alienware’s Aurora line of gaming laptops are on sale at Amazon. The Aurora 16 and Aurora 18 are on sale for $1,049.99 ($350 off) and $2,299.99 ($650 off), respectively. The 16 has a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 / 120Hz display and RTX 5060 GPU, while the 18 offers the same resolution on a larger 18-inch panel with 300Hz refresh, more RAM, a faster CPU, and RTX 5070 GPU. For another option somewhere in the middle, Best Buy has the Alienware Aurora 16X with a 240Hz panel, RTX 5060, 32GB of RAM, and the same Intel chip as the 18-inch for $1,399.99 ($400 off).

HP Victus 15 (2025, RTX 4050)

The Victus 15 is a popular, budget-friendly gaming laptop that now comes with RTX 4050 graphics, more RAM, and an improved 144Hz screen.

Asus ROG Flow Z13 (2025)

Asus’s latest gaming tablet opts for integrated graphics over a discrete GPU. That sounds like a downgrade, but its AMD Strix Halo APU gives it solid battery life and graphics performance on par with RTX 4060 laptops. Read our review.

Gigabyte Aorus Master 16 (RTX 5080)

Gigabyte’s Aorus Master doesn’t have the best build quality around but it features a lovely OLED display and mid-to-top-end Nvidia RTX 50-series GPU options. Read our review.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 49-inch curved ultrawide gaming monitor (G95SC, 240Hz)

Samsung’s latest flagship 49-inch Odyssey G9 ultrawide gaming monitor uses an OLED panel for deep blacks and rich color contrast. It also sports a fast 0.03ms response time, 240Hz refresh, 1800R curve, and 32:9 aspect ratio yielding a 5120 x 1440 resolution.

Where to Buy:

  • Alienware’s excellent AW3423DWF 34-inch Curved QD-OLED gaming monitor is selling for $521.99 (about $177 off) at Amazon. The 21:9 ultrawide display supports 3440 x 1440 resolution at up to 165Hz refresh rate. This is the lower-cost version of the model we reviewed back in 2022, and it remains a great option if newer OLEDs capable of 4K or 240Hz refresh are still too pricey — or if they’re just overkill for your needs.
  • Speaking of OLEDs, Amazon has a bunch of fantastic deals on quality OLED gaming monitors from various brands. (Many of these offerings use the same or similar OLED panels sourced from LG Display, with some of biggest differences being their housing design and extra features like a KVM.) The 32-inch Gigabyte Aorus FO32U2 with 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh is $749.99 ($350 off, and a new all-time low). Acer’s 32-inch Predator OLED Gaming Monitor with 4K / 240Hz is $799.99 ($200 off, and also a new low). And Asus’s 27-inch ROG Strix XG27AQDMG 1440p / 240Hz OLED is $584 ($115 off).

Insta360 Link 2

The Insta360 Link 2 offers the same auto-swiveling design as its excellent predecessor, only in a smaller form factor. It also offers a slate of new features, including group tracking and no-follow zones.

  • The Epomaker P75 mechanical keyboard that I personally own and covered in our recent affordable keyboard buying guide is now selling at Amazon for just $61.19 (about $39 off its original price). This might be one of the last pushes until it’s no longer available, now that Epomaker discontinued it.
  • If you prefer a slightly more conventional mechanical keyboard that isn’t so loud, the Keychron V1 Max with linear red switches is $79.99 ($20 off) at Amazon. That’s a new low price for Keychron’s most advanced version of its base 75 percent board, supporting both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless. Read our buying guide.
  • One more keyboard recc from our recent buying guide: the Dry Studio Ice Ring 63 RT in its best color is just $99.99 ($40 off) at Amazon. That’s another new low, this time on the super fast Hall effect gaming board that’s wired only and features an adjustable actuation point you can tune with a unique geared ring.
  • Hate how I constantly post about small form factor keyboards that lack number pads? Not to worry! With an affordable wireless numpad like the 8BitDo Retro 18 you can get your precious number keys to go with any keyboard (even on the left side) for as low as $31.28 (about $14 off) at Amazon. It comes in four different stylings, reminiscent of the Commodore 64, Famicom, NES, and IBM Model M.
  • The Angry Miao AM Infinity Mouse is on sale at Amazon for $126.99 ($43 off). That’s about what the Kickstarter early bird preorder price was for this skeletonized gaming mouse with hot-swappable batteries. The ergonomics and look of the Infinity Mouse’s skeletonized design may be polarizing, but at 49 grams there’s no denying how incredibly light this thing is. Read our impressions.

Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD (with heatsink)

Samsung’s ultrafast 990 Pro is a PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD that can reach sequential read speeds of 7,450MB/s and write speeds of 6,900MB/s. It’s more than capable for high-end PC builds, and its preinstalled heatsink means it’s easily installable into a PlayStation 5. Its heatsink even has a bit of RGB lighting for some extra pop (if you’re able to see it).
