The controversy surrounding Marathon is coming to an end. Last May, artist Fern Hook (aka NΒ²) accused Bungie of using several of her artworks in its new PvP game. The controversy rocked the studio, which has took some time to recover.
Bungie acknowledged the facts and quickly conducted a thorough analysis of Marathon’s assets to identify any works that might not belong to its teams. This week, Hook posted a brief message on X to indicate that the incident is now closed.
“The Marathon art issue has been resolved with Bungie and Sony Interactive Entertainment to my satisfaction.”
We do not know whether Fern Hook received compensation following the incident.

It’s great to hear that the issue surrounding the artwork for Marathon has been resolved. It’s always encouraging when disputes can be settled amicably. Looking forward to seeing how this will impact the game’s development!
