Take-Two CEO believes the future of gaming lies on PC

The debate between PCs and consoles has been raging for many years. And while these two ways of gaming seem to coexist perfectly well, one major player in the industry believes that our trusty computers will emerge victorious from this rivalry.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, said in an interview that the PC model, which is more open than consoles, will tend to become more widespread. However, he is not writing off consoles altogether.

“I think itโ€™s moving towards PC and business is moving towards open rather than closed. But if you define console as the property, not the system, then the notion of a very rich game that you engage in for many hours that you play on a big screen โ€” thatโ€™s never going away.”

The arrival of new offerings on the market, such as Valve’s Steam Machine, could make this phenomenon even bigger. For its part, Microsoft is keen to offer an even more open experience by including Steam and other PC libraries on its future console.
