We keep ketting reports, sometimes contradict one another, regarding the launch window for the next generation of consoles. The shortages of RAM and storage could impact Sony and Microsoft’s schedules. Rumors have even suggested delays as late as 2028 or even 2029.
During an interview with The Game Business, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, briefly addressed the issue. In his view, current circumstances will not affect the release of the PS6 and Project Helix (the next Xbox).
“We do not anticipate any impact on the consoles’ launch.”
Of course, Zelnick is not the one who will decide whether or not to delay the upcoming consoles. In any case, Microsoft already plans to provide alpha kits for its next-generation Xbox to developers in 2027.
