Steam Users Sitting on Gold Mine of Free Store Credit, Redeem Now

If you’re a Steam user, you may want to check your account because you could be sitting on a gold mine of free store credit.

Playing a lot of games on Steam can result in many hours of fun, but did you know there’s also a way you can make money from it?

Steam has this feature called Trading Cards, which are essentially a bunch of cards you earn from playing games that have the feature enabled.

You generally earn around half of a game’s available trading cards just from playing the game, with the idea being to either trade or buy cards you’re missing to complete the set. Once you’ve completed the badge, you can proudly display it on your profile for all to see.

However, if you’re not interested in completing the game badge, you can also opt to sell your earned trading cards for a little cash.

How Much Can You Earn From Selling Steam Trading Cards?

The money, which gets added to your Steam wallet upon each sale, only results in a couple of pence per sale. So I wouldn’t quit my job to become a professional Steam card farmer or anything like that.

However, if you’ve been playing games on Steam for a long time and haven’t sold any trading cards, you’re likely sitting on a large wealth of cards that can be sold on the marketplace.

As one user on the Steam Reddit page pointed out, they were able to sell their entire Steam inventory and earn $12.30. Okay, that’s not a lot, but that’s $12 more to put towards something in the next Steam sale.

“My advice sell cards for top buy orders if want sell immediately, and get the most,” reads a comment in the replies. “But if you’re patient, you can get bit more if there not many sell orders, can sell little extra and eventually someone may buy it.”

“I’m selling cards as soon as I get them. Thought everyone does,” reads another comment.

Indeed, you may also want to look at other items in your Steam inventory that are worth selling. Some items like Team Fortress 2 Hats and old cases from Counter-Strike may pick up a pretty penny.
