Steam Gamers Can Claim 4 More Free Games, Includes 9/10 Rated Hit

New Year, new free Steam games, and at least a couple of today’s free offerings look like they’re more than worth your time.

It is Wednesday, my dudes, which means that we have four free games that you can grab on Steam right this second. And, as a New Year’s treat, we’ve opted to show you some bangers this time around.

As per usual, thank you in advance to whoever runs the Free Steam Games Twitter for collating these all. We’re not ordering these from worst to best today either, but I have saved what appears to be the best game until last.

A Roguelike, Platformer, Strategy Game, and Puzzler

First up, we have MINOS: Home A-Labyrinth, an action roguelike/strategy game from developer Artificer and publisher Devolver Digital.

The Steam description isn’t trying to hide it, so I won’t either: this is Home Alone in game form. It’s tower defense-esque, I guess, but with a festive spin. Looks like a fun way to waste a couple of hours, and it currently has a “Mostly Positive” score on the platform, with 77% of the reviews being positive.

Next up, Modularity is a simulation strategy game from a team of devs at publisher Root Cause Games.

I don’t know what’s going on in this Modularity screenshot, but I’m afraid to find out, Root Cause Games

This is a self-described “resource management game” that tasks you with puzzling out different ways to connect a series of pipes made out of “organic material”. Gross, I love it. No review consensus on this one yet, but almost all the reviews so far are positive.

Our second-to-last game is Unbound, a precision platformer from developer and publisher Primal Crowd.

We did cover this one in our most recent free Steam games roundup, but it looks charming enough that I don’t mind writing about it again. It’s a rather difficult-looking platforming game with a few cool mechanics, like a short-boost jetpack (and, as we all know, adding a jetpack to your game instantly makes it cooler). Currently sitting at a “Positive” score on Steam, with 86% of the reviews being on the complimentary side.

And finally, that certified banger we promised you earlier: 12, Memory Lane, a mystery puzzle game from developer Forget-Me-Not Studio and publisher Rubika Supinfogame.

Gotta say, this might be the prettiest game we’ve ever featured on one of these lists. It’s giving me Layers of Fear vibes, but in a wholesome, friendly way (opposed to it being a horrifying nightmare). If that doesn’t sell it for you, maybe the 92% “Very Positive” score on Steam will instead.

And that’s your lot… for now.

See you back here again for the rest of 2026, where we will endeavour to send you every semi-decent-looking free game on Steam we can find. Happy New Year, folks.
