Steam 10/10 Free Game Is Cosy Spooky Season Must-Play

This free Steam game has received nothing but positive reviews, and it could be perfect to play this spooky season of Halloween.

We’re at the halfway point of October, which means we’re just two weeks away from Halloween, a time of the year that could be considered the Christmas alternative for horror fans.

There’s no better time of the year to cosy up on the sofa to watch movies such as The Conjuring, The Evil Dead, Alien and more. Not to mention, video games can, in most cases, be scarier than movies, in my opinion.

Not that I ever need an excuse to fire up any game from the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series, but I will still use that as an excuse, don’t get me wrong.

That being said, while subscription services like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass can be a great way to play horror games at no extra cost, sometimes, it can be nice to play a game that won’t cost us a single penny. One such game is the topic of today’s article.

The game in question is the indie title developed by Shiromi and published by Ghost Coast Laboratory Tiny Terrors. It very much reminds me of a game that might have been released in the 1990s, and I love its hand-drawn visuals.

Sure, as the name of this game might suggest, it’s going to be no Alien: Isolation, but if you were after a cute horror game, then Tiny Terrors might just be your cup of tea.

“Tiny Terrors is a casual 2D action game with a top-down perspective where you control a small ghost and collect candy while avoiding the Terrors that appear in the field,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam. “On Halloween night, a lonely ghost child encounters a mysterious jack-o’-lantern bucket… Fill the jack-o’-lantern with candy until it’s full!”

At the time of writing, Tiny Terrors has 16 Steam user reviews, all of which are positive. Here’s what some of them had to say.

“I love the design and the cute lil boo ghostie,” wrote one user.

“Super cute and perfect for Halloween! Would love to have a guide for the hidden achievements,” added alieneyedrops.

“Intro and ending cutscenes are really nice,” explained Zobu. “All in all, this is a cute, short game. Give it a try.”

Tiny Terrors is available to download now for free via the PC platform Steam.
