Stardew Valley collides with The Witcher in this monster-hunting mod that we never saw coming.
When it comes to beloved indie darlings, it perhaps doesn’t get more so than 2016’s Stardew Valley, developed and published by ConcernedApe. Stardew Valley is a charming farming sim with all the cosy goodness that fans of the genre could ever want.
Other than being a fantastic game in its own right, which has stood the test of time for nearly a decade, maybe the most impressive aspect of Stardew Valley is that it’s developed by a single person, Eric Barone.
“You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home?” reads the synopsis of the game.
Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next game from ConcernedApe, namely Haunted Chocolatier. However, at the time of writing, Haunted Chocolatier does not have a release date.

Stardew Valley is Loved by Millions
Thankfully, while we wait for the arrival of Haunted Chocolatier, Stardew Valley is not only continually evolving thanks to the fantastic content updates from ConcernedApe but also courtesy of its ever-vibrant modding community.
One such mod is called ‘Bog’s Monster Sanctuary’, created by BogWyytch and Abagaianye, and is available to download for free right now via Nexusmods.
“Monsters want to make your farm their home! This mod creates a new gameplay loop where players can hunt for specific monster varieties they want to summon, in combination with Bog’s Monster Mash, for the monsters’ loot drops. OH YES, INDEED,” the description of the mod explains.
It’s One for Stardew Valley, The Witcher and Monster Hunter Fans!
‘Bog’s Monster Sanctuary’ kind of looks like what would happen if Stardew Valley, The Witcher and Monster Hunter got together and had a baby. I know, that’s a weird thought, but you get what I mean (hopefully).
Sadly, as is the nature of most mods, ‘Bog’s Monster Sanctuary’ is a PC exclusive.
Thankfully, at least, the rest of us can enjoy Stardew Valley as originally intended on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and mobile devices.
As for Haunted Chocolatier, once that release date drops, we’ll be sure to update you right away.
Hopefully, that information will arrive sooner rather than later, but we’re sure it will be well worth the wait.
