If the prospect of adding additional magic into Stardew Valley sounds like your idea of a good time, you’re in the right place.
Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone is certainly not finished with updating and extending the Stardew Valley experience.
Update 1.7 is in the works which we know will add Clint and Sandy as marriage candidates.
There’s no word yet on what the update will offer beyond this nor when it’ll land.
If you’re itching for new content in the meantime, I’ve unearthed a mod that I think is very cool.
Transform Ginger Island Into a Magical Getaway, Perfect For Hogwarts Legacy Gamers
‘Crystal Island – Ginger Island’s Retexture’ is a creation by NexusMods user BackedPotatoes that essentially reskins Ginger Island, transforming it into a magical new locale.
That locale is called, you guessed it, Crystal Island.
“Turn Ginger Island into a mystical place! From pirates to witches, walnuts to crystals, ginger to mushrooms. New music, animations, and more,” the synopsis reads.
The creator added, “I made this mod for players like me who want the Ginger Island to have a more fantasy and magical look.
“I have a lot of mods that focus on fantasy themed textures, and this mod follows this premise so the Ginger Island no longer breaks my immersion.
“ This is a very big mod, but it is in its initial form. I have big plans for this!”

I like the sound of that. It’s always exciting to follow a mod that develops over time. In fact, there are already plans to add a new NPC into the mix for this one.
Players will get to select from whether they want parrots to transform into ravens or both ravens and bats. Ravens only is the mod’s default.
Pirates will transform into witches as the pirates’ old cove also gets a magical overhaul.
New crops will replace bananas, pineapples, and ginger, plus golden walnuts will be replaced with amethysts.
You can install the mod mid-save and in addition to creating a new NPC, BackedPotatoes is also working on new details, animations, and portraits for the witches.
The mod has only been available for a few days but it’s off to a good start.
“This is so beautiful! And you even changed the music! This is perfect for my fantasy/witchy save, I love it so much. Thank you for making this,” wrote one happy player.
“Your retexture is truly stunning; the dragon bones are just crazy,” added another.
You’ll need to be running Stardew Valley on PC but otherwise, the mod is freely available now and is yours to enjoy.
