Stardew Valley isnāt going anywhere; Eric āConcernedApeā Barone has made that abundantly clear.
Just a few days ago, Barone marked the gameās 10th anniversary by confirming that Clint and Sandy will become marriage candidates in the upcoming 1.7 update.
Thereās no news yet on when exactly that update might land, but I sense weāre quite a way off.
Stardew Valley is a game with longevity, so I may be rocking the boat by referencing a spiritual successor.
Hereās An Alternative Cosy Pixel Art Adventure For Stardew Fans
Think of this recommendation though as simply an alternative project that may scratch the same itch.
Farming Camp has been unveiled by Innerfire Studios and while the title is perhaps a tad lacklustre, early glimpses at gameplay have certainly secured my attention.
It perhaps wonāt surprise you to learn that Farming Camp is a pixel art cosy game that combines both adventure and life sim elements.
Visually, itās a stunner, opting for a little more clarity and vibrancy than youāll find in Stardew Valley.

āEvery summer, Evertree Farming Camp searches for the next best Evertree Farmer, someone ready to raise the bar in agriculture,ā the synopsis begins.
āIn hopes of a better future, young Alessandra enters the contest to claim the title, but she will have to face her peers and discover what it means to be an Evertree Farmer.ā
Devs describe the title as a āsingle-player farm management gameā so yes, youāll tend to plenty of crops whilst also navigating getting to know a charming cast of NPCs.
Alessandra works alongside two young farmers who you can assign chores to, plus there are some fun little minigames as you chop wood, fuel up your machinery, and deal with pesky pests.
Youāll care for animals and fish too, with a āunique, captivating storyā available thatāll pull you through exploring this gameās ābeautifully hand-drawn 2D top-down worldā.
Thereās a progression system thatāll reward āexploration and consistent effortā, although I canāt at this stage tell you what those rewards look like.
As there are so many NPCs to encounter, Iām going to hazard a guess that you may be able to influence how things play out to an extent as you deicde who to befriend. Devs havenāt exactly said a lot on this front though.
Thereās no launch date yet for Farming Camp, but we do know itās coming to Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
The title is available to wishlist now, so Iād definitely recommend doing that if you want to be kept up to date on its progress.
