Stardew Valley Gamers Devastated By Farm Sim Delay

Stardew Valley fans are in store for some bad news after a highly anticipated RPG has suffered a cruel blow, but thankfully, itโ€™s not all doom and gloom.

Without question, Stardew Valley is one of the most popular cosy farm sim games there ever was. It’s also a perfect example of the term โ€œindie darlingโ€, delighting fans with its charming ways ever since it was first released in 2016 by the then one-person studio, ConcernedApe, aka Eric Barone.

Now, fans are eagerly waiting for the arrival of its spiritual successor, another cosy game from ConcernedApe, that being Haunted Chocolatier. However, despite Haunted Chocolatier being announced in October 2021, it still doesn’t have a release date, but Iโ€™m sure it will be well worth the wait.

Stardew Valley fans were hoping to play the promising sim-life game, Witchbrook would help pass the time while we wait for the arrival of the elusive Haunted Chocolatier.

Developed by Chucklefish and Robotality, Witchbrook was intended to be released later this year, but that is no longer the case.

โ€œHey, everyone. We have an important update to share about Witchbrook,โ€ reads an update from the developers.

โ€œOriginally, we had planned to launch in winter 2025, but despite great development progress this year, weโ€™ve made the difficult decision to shift the release into next year.

โ€œWitchbrook is a big project โ€“ and itโ€™s taking shape exactly as we hoped; full of charm, depth and detail! In our first blog, we shared our goal to create a living, breathing world for you to explore, and as we bring all those elements together, weโ€™re taking the time needed to ensure the world feels rich, immersive, and alive.โ€

While itโ€™s never not disappointing when a game weโ€™re looking forward to gets delayed, at least this is for the right reasons. After all, Iโ€™m sure we want any game to be the best that it can be.

During the extra development time, new features will be added to Witchbrook, such as additional language support, porting it to platforms other than PC and more.

At the time of writing, Witchbrook is now intended to be released at some point next year. In the meantime, the developers have promised further updates in the coming months.

You can also wishlist Witchbrook on Steam to be notified of any updates, such as when itโ€™s ready to launch. Like Haunted Chocolatier, Iโ€™m sure the wait for Witchbrook will be well worth it.

Weโ€™ll keep you posted when its release date eventually drops.
