Although there have been plenty of rumors on the project, Square Enix has yet to say anything on Final Fantasy IX Remake. The latest rumors on the subject were quite pessimistic, suggesting a possible cancellation.
On X, renowned insider NateTheHate was asked about this remake. He said he had no new information to share. Furthermore, he believes that Final Fantasy IX Remake ” is on ice & the unknown is whether SqEx will return to it or not.”
