A new version of the Splinter Cell Enhanced mod has been released for the new year, and it might be a good reason to revisit the 2002 stealth classic.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell is one of the best stealth games of all time, but it’s a little tricky to get into if you’re a new player approaching it in 2026.
There’s loads of bugs and issues with getting it to run on modern computers, and the controller support is basically non-existent without some tinkering.
While we all wait for that Splinter Cell remake that Ubisoft is still allegedly working on, fans have come out to support the original game with mods and hacks that smoothens out the experience.
Enhanced SC is a mod for the PC version of Splinter Cell which aims to drastically improve the base game, and is recommended to all new players of the game.
The mod introduces a variety of new and improved features, such as better resolutions, native controller support, cut content and DLC, and many more quality of life updates and bug fixes.
Enhanced SC is still a work in progress, but its creator has assured fans that the mod is in active development.

Enhanced SC Has A Brand New Update Available Now
To celebrate the new year, a new update for Enhanced SC has been released today by the mod’s creator, adding a whole bunch of new features and improvements.
Enhanced SC’s 1.4 update adds new controller features, including haptic feedback and menu navigation, which is something older releases of the mod did not have. This also makes it perfect for Steam Deck users to play.
The mod also features refined widescreen support, revamping the existing widescreen support for additional improvements. A whole variety of bug fixes have also been added as part of this update.
There’s also a bunch of new content for players to check out, including three suits: Beta Standard, White Balaclava, and Beta Sleeves. As well as new equipment based on cut content or features introduced in later games.
The new equipment introduces the binoculars, useful for spying, as well as a concussion grenade, a non-lethal grenade that was cut from the original Splinter Cell.
If you’d like to check out Enhanced SC’s new 1.4 update, whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to the game, you can do so by heading over to the mod’s Github page and downloading it from there.
