A couple has received a bunch of free PlayStation 5 games from Sony to celebrate their wedding, after sending the company an invitation.
While most couples receive vouchers or an overabundance of toasters to celebrate their nuptials, Sony has come through with the perfect wedding present for two newly weds.
A couple invited Sony Interactive Entertainment to their wedding ceremony, presumably just for a giggle, but received an unexpected present in response.
As shared by Instagram user Kirstenandthecorgis on February 12, Sony replied to her wedding invitation with a PlayStation card and digital vouchers for games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Horizon: Call Of The Mountain (hopefully they have a VR headset), and Fortnite’s Cobalt Star bundle which includes in-game items.
There are other games in the stack but they aren’t explicitly shown in the video. Additionally, there’s a handwritten message in the card: ‘Aiden and Kirsten, congratulations on your marriage!’ A printed note below it adds: ‘Congratulations and thank you for playing with us.’
In the clip’s caption, Kirsten wrote: ‘THANK YOU @playstation ! That was so thoughtful of you guys. We’ve loved PlayStation since we were kids. #playstation #wedding #gift #thoughtful #weddinginvitation.’

The clip has since gone viral with over 1.1 million views at the time of writing, along with 59,000 likes.
This doesn’t appear to be an isolated case either. In the comments, others claim they received the same gift when sending Sony a wedding invite, although it seems not everyone got the free games treatment. ‘Just got one too… it was an empty version of that card,’ one person wrote.
So if you’re on the fence about inviting your rowdy cousins from the dodgy side of town, you might get a better return on investment by inviting a Japanese tech conglomerate instead. You could try Ferrari or Krug too, but we doubt they’ll send anything but their best wishes.
Beyond weddings, Sony has a good reason to celebrate following its latest State Of Play, where it shadow-dropped a 2D God Of War, announced a God Of War Trilogy Remake, and showed off new gameplay from Saros.
Sony’s next major title is Bungie’s Marathon, which will be free for everyone for a brief period later this month before it launches on March 5 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
