The upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie has landed a noteworthy television and film star for a key role, casting Kristen Bell as the hammer-wielding pink hedgehog Amy Rose.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Bell, who is best known for her lead roles in The Good Place, Veronica Mars, and Frozen, has closed a deal to join the cast of the sequel, which is scheduled for a March 2027 release date. Sonic voice actor Ben Schwartz, who co-starred in House of Lies with Bell, celebrated the news in an X post that included a picture of both actors holding figurines of their respective characters.

Amy Rose made a small appearance in the post-credits scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, fighting off several Metal Sonic robots with her trusty Piko Piko Hammer. Both Amy and Metal Sonic made their video game debuts in 1993’s Sonic CD, so it’s a fair bet that the new movie will include elements from that title.
