Something for the Weekend – 18/10/25

Are you getting swept up in the fervour for Pokémon Legends: Z-A this weekend? The newly launched monster battler has made some big changes to the classic formula of the series, that are really striking a bit of a chord.

Of course, maybe that’s less your style, and so you have plans to dip into the Arc Raiders server slam stress test, or keep on keeping on with Battlefield 6, or the many other games that are rushing out this time of year.

In the News This Week

Let’s dive into the news, where there were a couple of great announcements for fans of racing games:

Games in Review & Featured Articles

There was a very pleasant surprise in wait for this week’s reviews, with Nic coming away incredibly impressed with the latest Pokémon game. If monster battling ain’t your style, then could we interest you in some Breakout-like Ball X Pit? Or maybe a lighthouse adventure in Keeper?

Beyond the games, Dom reviewed the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded controller. Is it the new essential gamepad? He also previewed Lumines Arise, which looks to do a Tetris Effect to the other block-dropping masterclass.

I then went hands on with the demo for Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked and loved what I saw – check it out in Steam Next Fest! – before we had a pair of interviews for Bloodlines 2 and the VR action of Reach.

Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Keeper & Ball X Pit
