Skyrim gets a new video comparing the Visuals and Performance modes on Switch 2

Bethesda Game Studios has finally rolled out an update making The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition run at 60 frames per second on Switch 2. To do this, you must of course switch to Performance mode.

The YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits has produced a visual comparison between the performance mode and the 30 FPS graphics quality mode. To double the frame rate, Bethesda has sacrificed the density of the vegetation and the rendering of certain textures in the distance. A slight blurring effect is also noticeable, as the native resolution drops to 1080p instead of 1440p in docked mode. This is even more noticeable in portable mode.

Unfortunately, the frame rate also seems to struggle to maintain a constant 60 frames per second. The intro to Skyrim almost never achieves this in Performance mode, dropping as low as 46 frames per second.
