Silent Hill: Townfall Drops Surprise Gameplay Reveal Trailer, Set in England

Finally, we got to see the highly anticipated and perhaps somewhat forgotten, Silent Hill: Townfall, and it looks fantastic.

Silent Hill: Townfall was first announced by Konami all the way back in 2022 during a Silent Hill Transmission digital event. However, when it was revealed, we literally had no gameplay or even a release date, just a static radio.

Thankfully, the long wait is over after Silent Hill: Townfall got its very first gameplay reveal during State of Play, and by the looks of it, it will be set in gloomy, old England. To be fair, it could be a perfect location, given that the UK gets its fair share of fog and is not short of creepy small towns.

The protagonist in Silent Hill: Townfall is called Simon, and in typical series fashion, he must have done something questionable in the normal world and looks to be set in some sort of purgatory.

Silent Hill: Townfall Has All the Signature Series Vibes!

Silent Hill: Townfall will be developed by Scotland-based Screen Burn, formerly known as No Code, and it will be published by Annapurna Interactive. Silent Hill: Townfall is expected to be part of an anthology spin-off series. I guess that will all depend on the success of the game, whether or not it will get sequels.

The location in Silent Hill: Townfall looks to be set in a small fishing town, has the signature series creepy sound effects, soundtrack and of course, monsters. We also saw the gameplay in both first and third-person perspectives.

Silent Hill: Townfall is the next in line of series spin-offs in recent years, following the freebie Silent Hill: The Short Message in January 2024, followed by Silent Hill f in 2025.

“Despite being dragged down by the combat, I was thoroughly invested and on the edge of my seat for the majority of the game, and despite the horrors I witnessed it hasn’t swayed me from seeing every available ending, for the full and complete story,” said GAMINGbible’s Sam, in his review of Silent Hill f, scoring it a 9/10.

No release date was given for Silent Hill: Townfall, but it does have a vague release window this coming summer and will launch on PC and PlayStation 5. More of Silent Hill: Townfall will be showcased during the next Silent Hill Transmission, which will air directly after State of Play. I can’t wait to see more of Silent Hill: Townfall!
