Of all the titles appearing at The Game Awards, one of the least expected could be Housemarque’s Saros. The rogue-lite third-person shooter launches early next year and may receive its own dedicated State of Play before that. But that doesn’t mean it can’t appear at this week’s awards show with a new trailer.
It could even be something as simple as announcing that pre-orders are now available, since the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions were recently rated in Taiwan (as discovered by Gematsu). You probably shouldn’t expect it to cost more than $69.99 for the base game – the real question is what benefits the Deluxe Edition could offer.
Saros launches on March 20th, 2026, for PS5 and serves as a successor to Returnal. It features similar gunplay and mechanics like dashing, though protagonist Arjun Devraj can also use a shield to absorb damage. While visual aspects like “tentacle technology” are very much intact (for better or worse), it’s developed on Unreal Engine 5 and features more persistent progression.
