Saros – Nixxes and PlayStation Studios Creative Arts Working With Housemarque

Housemarque’s Saros received its first gameplay and a release date during the latest State of Play, but the team isn’t alone on the project. Alongside PlayStation Studios Creative Arts, which also worked on Returnal, PC port studio Nixxes is heavily involved.

On the PlayStation Blog, Nixxes is noted to be “working closely” on “key elements of the art and gameplay” with Housemarque’s leadership. As for PlayStation Studios Creative Arts, it’s collaborating with the studio on the music and sound design. Further adding to the stellar atmosphere is composer Sam Slater, a two-time Grammy Award winner who worked on Chernobyl, Joker, Mandy, and much more.

Along with delving more into the story, cast of NPCs, and Carcosa’s colony, Housemarque will detail the process behind Saros’ music closer to launch, so stay tuned.

Launching on March 20th, 2026, Saros will be available for PS5 and also support the PS5 Pro. It’s developed on Unreal Engine 5, though the recent gameplay still represents a work in progress.
