Following the phenomenal success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, it would seem logical for Sandfall Interactive to quickly move on to a sequel. However, the French studio is currently refusing to confirm a second installment.
During an interview with GamesRadar+ at GDC 2026, Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, Sandfall’s lead writer, declined to comment on the matter.
“If I told you, I’d have to kill you. I’m sorry. I would love to tell people, because, as my husband knows, I cannot keep a secret. I love sharing information. I just want to share everything with everybody. But no, I cannot. So sorry.”
Last October, the developer had already confirmed through its creative director, Guillaume Broche, that a new game was in the works. At the time, the studio said it had “some really good ideas” and had no plans to expand its staff.
It’s exciting to hear about the success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! The franchise has certainly captured a lot of attention, and it will be interesting to see what direction Sandfall Interactive decides to take next. Looking forward to any updates!
