Actor Ron Perlman, famous narrator of the Fallout series, revealed that his very first involvement in the franchise in 1997 consisted of a single recording session, about which he said in a podcast:
“They invited me to do the very first Fallout back in the 90s, I think. They gave me 40 dollars and a sandwich.”
At the time, he had no idea that Fallout would go on to become a huge success: he didn’t even realize that a second game was planned until he was called back to return.
Perlman has since lent his voice to several installments, but has never played the games and remains amazed at how big the franchise has become. His introductory role, notably the iconic line “War. War never changes,” has become a defining part of Fallout‘s identity, despite its humble beginnings.
