Roguelite spin-off Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core digs up an Early Access release date

Ghost Ship Games’ hit sci-fi dwarf mining series will get bigger in a couple months, with Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core set to launch into Steam Early Access on 20th May 2026.

This standalone game puts a roguelite spin on the popular 4 player co-op action. Check out the trailer:

Where Deep Rock Galactic is all about getting in, mining and finding what you need and getting back out alive, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core skips that pesky getting out alive part.

Hoxxes IV is now in a looming state of shutdown, with mine sites cut off from the outside world. The only solution the Deep Rock Galactic Mining Corporation can come up with is to deploy its elite security team, the Reclaimers, to go and five hundred miles, and then walk five hundred more, descending into the depths to reach and reinstate dig sites.

There’s five playable classes – Guardian, Spotter, Falconer, Slicer, and Retcon – each with strengths and abilities, and the game will now have a roguelite loop, starting of with basic gear and working to level it up through a run and through metaprogression.

There’s new gear, compared to the main game, including a zipline launcher traversal tool, the Zhukov NUK17 submachine gun, and plenty of grenades. Oh, and there’s new creatures, such as the Corespawn, Rafkan, and Shatterclaw.

Elsewhere in the DRG-verse, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has a major new expansion on its own journey through Early Access. The Demolisher arrives in a powerful mining vehicle that (in a shocking twist for a mining game spin-off) mine through the scenery in this bullet heaven Survivors-like.

The Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor – Heavy Duty expansion will arrive on 30th April.
