A disturbing new story is making waves on social media right now. After three years with the company, a woman named Nicole Ge was fired by Riot Games.
On X, Ge stated that she was fired “without warning” following the publication of a pitch deck on applied AI. It contained “ideas on how Riot could better leverage AI for things like combating toxicity and streamlining customer feedback”.
She had stored this presentation on a password-protected website before sharing it with certain studio executives. They accused the young woman of “breaching the company’s confidentiality” and proceeded to fire her. According to Nicole Ge, Riot offered her $15,000 to keep quiet. An offer she says she declined.
In her lengthy message, she questions the true reason for her dismissal and states that there is “no evidence that anyone outside of Riot saw the pitch deck.” Several executives saw it, including Riot’s CEO, who reportedly “enjoyed reading it.” No one reportedly asked her to delete it. However, she decided not to sue her former employer and to start her own company.

This situation certainly raises important discussions about workplace culture and accountability. It’s always disheartening to hear about such incidents, and it’s clear that they can have a lasting impact on individuals and the industry as a whole. Thank you for sharing this story.
