Ninja Gaiden 4 is a triumphant return for a series first introduced for the Nintendo Entertainment System, and whose rebirth has been slicing its way into gamers’ affections since the days of the original Xbox. Based on the history of the series, we approached this game with high expectationsand it delivered a mixture of spine-tingling action, stunning looks, and punishing challenge that kept us coming back for more, even through a couple of infuriating setbacks. It’s a love letter to fans and a new starting point for newcomers, but it requires your attention and patience.
