Revenues from PC and console games increased by 13% in 2025

Sensor Tower’s has published its annual State of Gaming 2026 report, all with the aim of shedding some light on the growth of video gaming worldwide. Despite a difficult context with layoffs and studio closures, the sector is doing well.

In 2025, 52 billion games were downloaded across all platforms. On mobile devices alone, 95,000 titles were downloaded every minute last year. However, revenue in the mobile gaming sector grew by only 1%, reaching $82 billion.

On consoles and PCs, revenue increased by 13%, downloads by 7%, and new releases by 8.4%. This was largely thanks to AA and AAA publishers. Furthermore, Battlefield 6 was the best-selling game on consoles and PCs in 2025. The other two spots on the podium were taken by EA Sports FC 25 and EA Sports FC 26, in that order. Skate was the most downloaded free-to-play game of the year, followed by Marvel Rivals, Delta Force, and Deadlock.

Finally, REPO and Peak were the best-selling indie games of 2025.
