Konami took the proverbial stage during the recent State of Play showcase to tease a brand new titleâRev. Noirâwith a teaser trailer. While we donât get much in the way of gameplay or story, we do get some hints of what the title will be about, with core themes seemingly revolving around adventure and memory manipulation.
The little bit of gameplay we do get towards the end of the teaser trailer reveals fast-paced hack-and-slash action that will have players take on all manner of beasts. To help in these combat scenarios, the protagonist will also be accompanied by party members, who will seemingly have their own special abilities.
The trailerâs YouTube description doesnât help much with regards to providing information either, with it largely being text that could either be described as a poem or a strange conversation. It describes âa lonely boy who suffers from amnesia,â and âa special girlâ setting off on a journey to stop a strange phenomenon known as Lightfall, which seemingly âbrings death to those it touches.â
Rev. Noir doesnât yet have a release date, and the only platform confirmed for the time being is PS5. It was far from the only game showcased by Konami, however. The company has also confirmed that a new Castlevania game is in the works, as well as the fact that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2âfeaturing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walkerâwill be coming to PC and consoles on August 27.
