Resident Evil Requiem’s blood buckets are making me hungry

The phrase “buckets of blood” is a time-worn cliché used to describe slasher movies and horror games, meant to invoke the over-the-top gore that’s a fixture of the genre. The buckets themselves are usually kept behind the scenes, teetering in the rafters waiting for the final girl’s unsuspecting approach, or to make a headshot that much more splattery and satisfying. But Resident Evil Requiem, the latest installment of Capcom’s zombie horror series, takes the concept extremely literally.
