Resident Evil Requiem zombies will be more unpredictable than ever

In an interview with Gamespot, Capcom recently explained that the zombies in Resident Evil Requiem will be more unpredictable than ever because they retain certain behaviors or fragments of human memories. Koshi Nakanishi, director of the game, states:

“Part of that fear experience is not knowing what the enemy is going to do when they approach you or when you see them, and so if you just had a standard zombie, you probably by now have an idea of what a zombie’s going to do. But if you had these zombies here that retained some of their memories or behavior from their previous life, then there’s more of a mystery element. You’re not exactly sure what they’re going to do.”

Unlike classic zombies, which always act in a very stereotypical way, these zombies could react in more varied ways, making their actions less predictable for the player. The goal is to add an element of surprise and uncertainty, heightening the tension and fear when encountering these enemies in the game.

Resident Evil Requiem will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and Switch 2 on February 27.
