Resident Evil Requiem amiibo Unveiled, Out This Summer

Taking over the spotlight during the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Capcom has officially revealed the two Resident Evil Requiem amiibo that it had announced last month. The amiibo, based on the upcoming horror title’s two protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft, will be available this Summer.

The Grace Ashcroft amiibo features the character in her regular outfit along with a backpack. Leon, on the other hand, is dressed up in his new all-black Resident Evil Requiem gear and equipped with his brand new melee weapon—the hatchet. Capcom has also confirmed that both amiibo will offer players in-game rewards when scanned on the Switch 2’s JoyCon or Pro controllers. Doing so will get you special weapon skins.

The amiibo were announced alongside a special Resident Evil Requiem-themed Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. Priced at $99.99, the controller is slated to hit store shelves on February 27th, on the same day as the game. Its design features new artwork in the style of a newspaper mentioning various plot elements from the Resident Evil series, like the events at Raccoon City Police Department from Resident Evil 2.

Resident Evil Requiem will feature different gameplay styles for its two protagonists. While Grace’s sections will focus on the franchise’s survival horror elements, Leon will have access to more firepower, making his parts more action oriented. Capcom has also spoken about how Leon’s moves will be a lot more brutal than what we’ve seen from the character in his previous appearances.

For more details, here are 15 new gameplay details you need to know about Resident Evil Requiem. Also check out how it will be different from its predecessor—Resident Evil Village.
