Just days after highlighting the critical and commercial failure of its latest game, FBC: Firebreak, Remedy Entertainment has announced the departure of its CEO.
Tero Virtala is stepping down from his position with immediate effect. This decision was made in agreement with the company’s board of directors. Virtala had been at the helm of the Finnish studio since 2016.
Pending the appointment of a new CEO, Markus Mรคki will take over the role on a temporary basis with immediate effect. Mรคki is one of the founders of Remedy and has been a member of the board of directors since 1995. He has served as chairman of the board until today.
