Red Dead Redemption 2 Still Planned For PS5, Xbox Series X|S, And Switch 2 – Report

Rockstar reportedly has a Switch 2 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 in the works, alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X|S updates for the open-world game. However, it’s apparently unclear when they will come out.

Reliable leaker NateTheHate2 reconfirmed that “they exist” on X, regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 versions for current-gen consoles and Switch 2. “I have no update on timing for release,” NateTheHate 2 added in response to a question about the prequel starring Arthur Morgan. The theory floated to the leaker was that Rockstar would want to release these new editions fairly soon, with the studio focusing on Grand Theft Auto VI next year.

In June, NateTheHate 2 stated that Red Dead Redemption 2 was headed to Switch 2 this year (in addition to the current-gen updates). The leaker nailed when a Nintendo Direct would happen last month, though Red Dead Redemption 2 didn’t make an appearance at that event. Previously, Rockstar brought Red Dead Redemption to Switch in 2023. There have also been rumblings about a possible GTA 4 remaster.
