The PS6 rumors continue to spiral. From release dates to prices, there are plenty leaks and speculation about Sony Interactive Entertainment’s next console. The latest is about its price and it seems it might be a great deal when compared to the next Xbox, if a known leaker is to be believed.
Leaker suggests PS6 price will be remarkably less than next Xbox
In a recent tweet from leaker Kepler, he responds to another user asking how much they believe the PS6 will cost compared to the next Xbox. Specifically, he speculates that the PS6 will be $600, while the next Xbox will be $1200.
This is just speculation from Kepler, so take this information with a grain of salt. Rumors suggest the PS6 won’t release for another two years, so there are tons of factors that can change between now and the launch of Sony’s next console.
However, Kepler’s guess is in line with another recent PS6 price leak. According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, he also suggested that Sony could sell the console at a loss, like the PS4, where it would be significantly lower than the next Xbox. However, he was also concerned that the PS6 could be more expensive due to Xbox’s current console and accessory prices.
This latest PS6 price claim was made due to a recent interview with Xbox CEO, Sarah Bond, where she teased Xbox’s direction with its next-gen console.
“The next-gen console will be a very premium and high-end curated experience,” said Bond. “You’re starting to see some of the thinking we have in this handheld, but I don’t want to give it all away.”
Although concrete details about the PS6 are few and far between, we do know it will leverage the discoveries Sony and AMD are making with Project Amethyst, a collaborative project focused on Machine Learning tech for gaming.
