Animal Crossing is a titan of the cosy genre, but it’s far from being the only life sim worth playing.
Wylde Flowers, for example, is a game that most definitely gives the Nintendo Switch exclusive a run for its money, and it’s just been shadow-dropped on PlayStation 5.
Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards is on the way in just a few days time; it’s an event that’ll undoubtedly bring us several major updates and world premiere reveals.
Today though, our focus is on one of the biggest events in the cosy gaming calendar.
The Wholesome Snack 2025 Showcase is underway and developer Studio Drydock has confirmed that PC hit Wylde Flowers is dropping on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles immediately.
Set Up a New Cosy Life
Wylde Flowers originally dropped in 2022 on PC; it’s a title that asks players to step into the shoes of Tara who embarks on a new cosy life as a witch.
“Farm by day, and cast spells by night as you craft your cottagecore life and bond with your coven,” the synopsis teases.
“Come to know and love the fully voice acted characters of Fairhaven, as you unravel a local mystery.”
As you’ve probably guessed, Wylde Flowers features all of the usual cosy gaming fare.
You can romance characters, farm, practice potioncraft, cook, and fish, whilst you also take care of animals and learn new magical spells.

The game is fully-voiced making for an immersive experience, especially as you’ll be able to form close bonds with 30 diverse characters, from Natalia the blacksmith to the local diner’s Sophia.
All in all, Wylde Flowers boasts 35 to 60-hours plus of content, so there’s plenty here to keep you busy.
As I said, it’s most definitely a title that’ll appeal to Animal Crossing fans and let’s face it, we’re not getting a new instalment anytime soon.
And let’s not forget that Animal Crossing isn’t available on PlayStation nor Xbox.
Players Are Full of Praise
At the time of writing, Wylde Flowers boasts a perfect 10/10 ‘Very Positive’ review score on Steam.
“Wylde Flowers holds a special place in my heart. I’ve loved the game ever since I first played it on Apple Arcade. I even bought it again on Steam just to enjoy the full experience — and honestly, it was worth every penny. You can really feel how much love and effort the devs put into the game,” said one player.
“Very fun game, always something to do. I get bored easily and this game holds my interest,” added another.
If your interest has been piqued, Wylde Flowers is officially available on PlayStation 5 right now.
