The PS Store has stealth-dropped new free demos for PS5 games that are worth checking out. None of the games requires PS Plus to play, but you do need PSVR2 to play one of them, and the other two can be streamed with a Premium subscription.

Two of the games are Pools and its PSVR2 version, an acclaimed 2024 horror walking simulator by Finnish developer Tensori. Only the PS5 version can be cloud-streamed via PS Plus Premium.
“No monsters chasing you or jumping at your screen,” reads an official description. “Yet it can feel oppressive at times by invoking quiet fears of getting lost, the dark, tight spaces, and the strange beauty of liminal space architecture.”
Pools’ demo version contains the first chapter.
The third game with a new free demo is Star Ores Inc., which is described as “an intergalactic mining adventure.” The game is coming to PS5 later this week on the 28th, but is already out on Steam, where it earned positive reviews from players based on nearly 200 votes. It’s not exactly a popular game, but the demo on PS Store has already garnered positive reviews, so we think it’s worth trying for free.
