PS5 Hit New RPG Earns Near Perfect Score, GOTY Contender

Just when you think that 2025 could not release anymore bangers, another competitor has entered the ring with a near-perfect score across multiple platforms.

Ghost of YĹŤtei, Death Stranding 2, Silent Hill f, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – these are just a few of 2025’s highest rated games which could all be in for winning that coveted Game of the Year trophy next month.

However, it seems as though another title is not far behind, earning a near perfect score on both the PlayStation Store and Steam in recent days.

Of course, I am talking about Dispatch, a “superhero workplace comedy” developed by AdHoc Studio which consists of multiple ex-Telltale employees.

In typical Telltale fashion, this choice-based, story-rich and episodic game launched back in October, and with two episodes released weekly, will soon be wrapping up its first season.

Starring some well-known actors such as Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, Erin Yvette, and many more, this star-studded game tells the story of a dysfunctional team of ex-villains who have now turned over a new leaf in the hopes of becoming superheroes.

It will be up to you to send them on various jobs across the city all whilst balancing your personal relationships, office politics and tensions and your own quest to become a hero.

Praised for its incredible animation, hilarious dialogue and loveable characters, Dispatch has gone from strength to strength with the release of each new episode and it is no wonder that fans are already calling out for a second season.

Dispatch is performing so well that it has managed to bag itself a 4.95 rating on the PlayStation Store and a “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam so it is safe to say that this is one of 2025’s most successful releases.

Game of the Year contender

Our very own Kate Harrold agrees with these scores, as her review calls Dispatch “intense, gripping, and GOTY level good”.

“As we head towards Dispatch’s concluding episodes, I am entirely certain that AdHoc will stick the landing,” she wrote.

“The title continues to prove both its worth and strength with each successive drop.

I’ve said it before but Dispatch undoubtedly remains a GOTY contender and I continue to testify that it’s already amongst my favourite games of all-time.

If a second season isn’t already in the works, one absolutely should be.”

So if you are on the lookout for well-written and hilarious dialogue, impressive visuals, diverse characters, and a whole lot of romance, then you will love Dispatch.

Dispatch episodes 8-9 release this Wednesday, 12 November 2025.
