The first quarter of 2026 is jam-packed with games, with another anticipated PS5 action RPG joining the list. Developed by Spiders, Greedfall: The Dying World is a single-player prequel to the 2019 RPG that turned out to be a commercial success for publisher Nacon.
PS5 RPG Greedfall: The Dying World, previously known as Greedfall 2, gets March 12 release date
Greedfall: The Dying World, which has been in early access since 2024, will fully launch on current-gen platforms on March 12. It was originally titled Greedfall 2, but Spiders presumably decided to drop the number because it’s set three years before the events of the original.
“This time you play as a native of Teer Fradee, uprooted by force from your island and taken to the continent of Gacane, where the colonists are from,” reads an official overview. “In this old world ravaged by war and scarred by the Malichor plague and the political scheming of the different factions, you need to regain your freedom and control of your own destiny.”
Greedfall 1 released for the PS4 in 2019 to mixed reviews, but managed to woo players. Critics agreed that the IP has potential and an interesting world and premise.
Greedfall was ported to the PS5 in 2021.
