The popular shonen anime and manga, Gachiakuta, will be adapted into a video game. The new teaser trailer, revealed after the anime’s finale in Japan, gives fans a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming game.
What do we know about Gachiakuta: The Game?
Gachiakuta: The Game (working title) is a new survival action RPG from Com2uS. According to the developer, it will task players with completing missions in monster-infested zones and making it to secure areas alive. Although a release date has not yet been revealed, it was announced that it will launch for PS5, Xbox, and PC via Steam. Check out the trailer below, which features key characters from the anime.
Gachiakuta: The Game is a collaborative project between Com2uS and Japanese publication company Kodansha. The companies state that this new game is “expected to further expand the possibilities of the Gachiakuta universe.” This is what the developer Com2uS had to say about bringing Gachiakuta to consoles and PC:
“Gachiakuta is a powerful series that blends explosive action with deep philosophical messages. We look forward to expanding its appeal through a game that allows fans to fully immerse themselves in its world.”
Gachiakuta is a manga series written and illustrated by Kei Urana. It was first published in February 2022 by Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The first season of the anime, produced by Studio Bones, began in July 2025 and concluded this month. For those unfamiliar with the manga and anime, here is a brief description:
“Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss. Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment—exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!”
