Developed by Ultizero Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Lost Soul Aside was finally released last August. The studio is continuing to support its action game with a new update that includes free content for PS5 players to enjoy.

In its “biggest free update yet,” the Lost Soul Aside PS5 update will be available tomorrow, November 18. It will include a new challenge mode called Surge of Voidrax, as well as other gameplay improvements that will make the game “feel sharper, richer, and more seamless than ever.”
The main highlight of the new Lost Soul Aside PS5 update is the Surge of Voidrax challenge mode. It tasks players with battling through 100 back-to-back waves, increasing in difficulty as they progress. All skills and weapons will be unlocked from the jump as players fight a lineup of bosses and other monsters. After each wave, Liana’s Shop will be open for players to refill potions, change accessories, boost Arena Power, and buy new weapons. Players will also be able to earn exclusive cosmetic rewards in the new mode.
Although not as exciting as the Surge of Voidrax challenge mode, the Lost Soul Aside PS5 update also includes several new enhancements, including the ability to skip the prologue, the Voidrax Pathfinder, which guides players through objectives, more skins, and revamped cutscenes. It will also offer customizable controls and refined core combat actions, such as rolling and double jumps.
When Lost Soul Aside was released on the PS5 in August, its critical reception was mixed. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an average score of 62 across 60 critic reviews. PlayStation players seem to share that same sentiment, as its global player ratings on the PlayStation Store are currently at an average score of 3.56 stars. 19% of those ratings are one-star reviews.
