PS Plus Premium users will be happy to note that another developer has announced support for PS1 classics on PS5 and PS4. Sony has lately been criticized for a lackluster classics lineup, especially in the latter half of 2025. But Brazilian studio QUByte Interactive might help change that.
PS Plus Premium users hoping for an end to the lull in classics lineup
Over on X, QUByte announced that its internal emulation engine has been successfully updated to support PS1 games. The company is already in the process of porting three titles to modern platforms: 1998 action game Invasion from Beyond (B-Movie), 1997 racer Motor Mash, and 1997 shooter One.
While there’s currently no confirmation of these games landing on PS Plus, Sony has in the past teamed up with emulation companies to bring classics to PS5 and PS4, so fans have their hopes up.
For now, QUByte is bringing a 1994 Ubisoft-published game to PS5 and PS4 on November 27, 2025. Street Racer, which was marketed as a fusion of Mario Kart and Street Fighter back in the day, will return as Street Racer Collection. The package includes four versions of the game that were released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Mega Drive, MS-DOS, and Game Boy.
