PS Plus Essential October 2025 monthly free games have begun rolling out, starting with Japan and Asia, where it’s Tuesday, October 7. The lineup will go live in the remaining regions at noon local time tomorrow, making this your last chance to claim September’s monthly games, if you haven’t already.
PS Plus Essential users treated to a fantastic monthly lineup in October 2025
Sony significantly improved PS Plus Essential offerings in the latter half of 2025. For the past several months in a row, subscribers have received critically-acclaimed games that are ours to keep for good. October’s lineup is no exception.
Headlining this month’s free games is hit horror game Alan Wake 2 — a perfect addition ahead of Halloween. The game received several quality and improvement updates post launch, including a patch that made collectible hunting for trophies more convenient.
Joining Alan Wake 2 are Goat Simulator 3 and Cocoon. The former needs no introduction, and the latter is an award-winning Annapurna puzzle adventure game directed by Jeppe Carlsen of Limbo and Inside fame.
Alan Wake 2 is the only game in the October monthly lineup that isn’t available on PS4. Owners of the last-gen console have another two months left to enjoy PS Plus as come January 2026, Sony will be shifting its focus to PS5 games.
