PS Plus Essential December 2025 monthly free games have begun rolling out, starting with Japan and Asia where it’s Tuesday, December 2. Members are being treated to a bumper lineup, likely as a one-off ahead of incoming changes to the service for PS4 users.
PS Plus Essential December 2025 lineup offers five free games
December’s free games will go live in the remaining regions at noon local time on the 2nd, making this your last chance to claim November’s monthly games, if you haven’t already.
This month, PS Plus subscribers can claim Lego Horizon Adventures (PS5), Killing Floor 3 (PS5), The Outlast Trials (PS5, PS4), Synduality Echo of Ada (PS5), Neon White (PS5, PS4).
Starting next month, Essential users on PS4 might go months without free games as Sony will be focusing on PS5 games. The most basic tier will then become merely a ticket to multiplayer and cloud saves for last-gen players.
This change won’t affect Extra and Premium subscribers right away as there are hundreds of games in the catalog and there are plenty of PS4 games to play.
Once again, we highly recommend opting for the Extra tier if you need PS Plus and don’t wish to upgrade to PS5. Without a free game or two, Essential will no longer be worth the money for PS4 players.
