PS Plus Adds Free Game Trials for 2025’s Biggest Games

PS Plus Premium free game trials

Sony has once again made an effort to improve PS Plus Premium‘s free game trials perk, securing trials for 2025’s biggest new games for the section. December’s new additions are headlined by none other than hit new IP Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which has received a full two-hour game trial.

As a reminder, all progress (including trophies) from PS Plus Premium game trials carries over to the full game. Players can also cloud stream the trials rather than downloading them.

Alongside Clair Obscur’s two-hour trial, PS Plus Premium has added the following:

  • Borderlands 4 two-hour trial
  • Astroneer two-hour trial (PS5 port released in 2025)
  • Varlet two-hour trial
  • Kill It With Fire 2 one-hour trial

It’s nice to see some improvements in PS Plus Premium offerings, especially since some of the pricey tier’s perks have either disappeared or sat neglected for a while. PSVR2 games have all been pulled without explanation, and for the longest time, game trials paled in comparison to the PS Store’s free Demos section available to all players.

December’s new game trials follow November’s addition of 2025 releases, including Mafia: The Old Country, Ready or Not, Lost Soul Aside, and more.
