Following the resounding success of Resident Evil Requiem and the somewhat more low-key positive results of Monster Hunter Stories, Capcom is launching a third game in less than two months with Pragmata. This new franchise has already been reviewed by the gaming press ahead of its release for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC on April 17, 2026,.
As of this writing, Pragmata has earned an average score of 86% on Metacritic for its PS5 version (58 reviews). The PC version, meanwhile, stands at 89% (16 reviews), the Switch 2 version at 93% (6 reviews), and 86% on Xbox Series X (5 reviews). On OpenCritic, the score currently stands at 87% with 64 reviews. Of course, these scores may change over the coming hours.
Among the strengths of Pragmata, there’s an engaging story with a very endearing duo. The gameplay is solid, and the boss battles are exceptionally well-executed. In terms of visuals, the game is also great! You can expect a well-paced campaign lasting between 12 and 15 hours, and there are plenty of challenges, New Game+, and higher difficulty levels rounding out the experience.
As for the few flaws, itβs worth noting that the difficulty is sometimes a bit uneven, and the overall formula is fairly conventional when it comes to a third-person shooter genre. Donβt go expecting any major surprises.
